Abraham Lincoln is one of our nation’s greatest presidents; perhaps the greatest of all time. One of the things that makes his leadership so remarkable is that he lived (and led) during a time when our nation was severely lacking in the leadership department. It should be no wonder that many of the names near the bottom of this list served as President in the years surrounding the Civil War. Last week, I discussed the presidency of James Buchanan who immediately preceded Lincoln in the White House. As it turns out, Buchanan was the worst President we’ve ever had. This week, we’ll take a look at the man who followed Lincoln: Andrew Johnson.
